Digital intermediate workflow software.
MediaNXS provides advanced capture and playback functionality
including media file transfer and DVI/VGA display for applications
where video I/O is not required.
Media NXS exists to provide professional quality advanced capture,
convert, control and output functionality for specific AJA and
Bluefish hardware, or as standalone where video I/O is not required.
MediaNXS provides a streamlined interface with a powerful feature
set you can use today.
MediaNXS provides all the important capture, add, import, convert,
clip trim & time line functions you need to get files on your
system. Capture directly to pristine quality SDI SD/HD/2K or to
compressed formats as it suits your application. Existing files can
be easily imported, and converted to a range of formats upon import,
greatly extending the acquisition capabilities of the system. Open
an existing timeline or EDL for sequenced playback or output to
file/VTR.
To create and use media sometimes you need to control external VTRs.
MediaNXS uses RS-422 serial protocol for frame accurate control over
compliant devices. Lay back a selected portion of the Timeline
directly to the VTR. Perform single or batch pull-ins from the VTR.
Save the EDL in various formats for later revision, reference, or
final edit.
Features in brief:
Get Media - Capture files from signal, add files, transcode
files on import.
RS-422 serial control - Control VTRs for frame accurate
laybacks & pull-ins. File formats - MOV, WMV, YUV, AVI, DPX, MPEG-2,
MXF, DV.
Application compatibility - Final Cut Pro®, Premiere Pro®,
After Effects®, Photoshop®, Shake™, Motion™, Combustion™, Premiere
Pro®.
Video standards - SD, HD, 2K. Signal analysis - Vector scope,
wave form monitor, histogram.
Output - Play out to switcher or external VTR from
project-specific clip lists or time line/EDL, transcode output to
file type, maintain/export EDL files.

MediaNXS creates standard,
non-proprietary file types used by professional devices and
solutions regardless of OS. MediaNXS provides support for the most
important formats in common use. DPX, YUV, Cineon, MOV, AVI, WMV,
MXF and DV files are supported at various levels of resolution. More
formats are present in the DVC ClipRecorder DDRs, or in connection
with DVC's OEM program.
MediaNXS is an ideal source file generator for video software
editors. Whether you use Final Cut Pro®, Premiere Pro®, After
Effects®, Photoshop®, Shake™, Motion™, Combustion™, Premiere Pro®,
MediaNXS is there to provide superb quality files in a format
perfectly suited to the application. Direct 4:2:2 playout from DV
and MPEG-2 formats eases integration with your work flow.
MediaNXS gives you direct capture and playback of compressed and
uncompressed SD, HD and 2K video standards. Broadcast quality up,
down and cross-conversion is included for ease of output. All
formats are supported with the same version, no software upgrade
required or license update is necessary to implement a switch to HD
provided your hardware is capable. Use the standard dictated by your
workflow, not your cash flow.
Play clips via SDI or analog outputs. Create a time line for sequenced output. Perform frame accurate laybacks from the timeline to an external VTR. Convert clips on the time line to a production file type, or a streaming type for review or alternate delivery. The clip list and thumbs view offer a quick way to review/trim the available media, and Project-based lists allow you to customize and recall multiple settings including Time Line/EDL sequence, Clip Lists and more.
From File - Convert most standard video and audio file types to uncompressed files for play back and editing
Trigger Record - Record on an incoming trigger (keyboard, RS-422, contact closure)
Stop Motion - Record a series of still frames to create a stop motion animation sequence
At Time - Record a file at a particular time of day
Batch Capture - Batch capture (from external VTR) elements of an EDL and create a virtual cuts only conform
Output Functions
Time Line Edit - A simple time line edit to conform sequences
real time to tape or file
Edit Decision List - A simple list based time line edit to
conform sequences real time to tape or file
VTR Out - Edit the current time line to an external VTR with
output EDL
To File - Create a sequence of files from the time line edits
Clip List - play or edit a clip, view information including
metadata
