This NEC 55″ Wide Screen Display is fitted with a fully integrated 3M Dispersive Signal Technology (DST) Single Touch screen. The sensor is installed behind the original NEC bezel & offers a fast accurate repeatable touch. It will still operate with static objects or other touches on the screen making it the ideal solution for tabletop applications when used with the appropriate monitor for tabletop orientation (X Series). Inputs are registered from finger or a stylus produced from almost any material. Due to the nature of this technology it is not to be recommended where drag & drop in mission critical applications is a requirement.
The P553-DST is available as either a factory fitted solution from NEC or as an installed option fitted by an NEC approved installer. Both options use the same 3M DST sensor. Although functionally identical the NEC fitted screen is covered by a 3 year on-site warranty whereas the installed option is 3 years Return to Base. This is reflected in the price and is the only difference between the two options.
