Drastic Technologies now offers a serial control option for MediaNXS and dTouch. This option allows Drastic software to be controlled as a broadcast VTR, DDR or Server.
Offering serial control within the economically priced MediaNXS line provides many benefits for automating facility work flows. Standard controllers and automation systems can start and stop recording, bump edit, play out files and playlists, and review and create clips remotely.
Drastic has extensive experience with digital video serial control in their hardware DDR product lines, and supports all major manufacturers and protocols, including Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, VDCP and Odetics. These years of experience, and real world installs within demanding environments, have helped Drastic develop a robust, dependable serial control and VTR emulation layer.
With MediaNXS operating under serial control, it is capable of automating cost sensitive work flows within larger facilities alongside Drastic’s traditional DDRs.
James Brooks CTO at Drastic explains, “Users have requested serial control functionality for MediaNXS for years, and finally we are able to offer it through this add-on. The cost benefits are huge and major facilities require these features.”
Drastic MediaNXS is a software-only product for Windows 32/64 XP~7. dTouch is OEM software featured in the 1Beyond Wrangler.
